About ME
I’m an emerging Canadian visual artist. At thirty years old I have been practicing art my whole life.
I split my time between Toronto and “north” Ontario. When up north I like to paint landscapes, with a particular affinity for water. When I’m in the city it’s all about extreme abstraction.
My artwork begins with a word or phrase that I use as the title, which I physically write on the canvas. The concept behind my associations with the given title is what’s most important as I choose the colour palette. My goal is to embrace the universal emotions that colours invoke and pair them with words. Communicating a common understanding of the connections between the given title and the visual elements within the artwork. My influences often revolve around current events and human nature.
Experience Matters
In high school I fell in love with oil painting. I followed this love of painting until it became a somewhat lucrative hobby. At which point I inevitably sought out an eduction in fine art at OCAD University. Graduating with a BFA in June 2020. Following this I continued my education, to include a certificate in Graphic Design.
